Blackstone now owns and manages over 300,000 units of rental housing in the U.S., making it the largest landlord in the U.S.

 A new study by researchers with the University of California’s largest employee union has found that inflation adjusted wages for UC’s lowest paid and most demographically diverse employee segments—nearly a quarter of UC’s total workforce —have shrunk by as much as 5% since early 2021, fueling a dual crisis of housing affordability and frontline staffing shortages at California’s third largest employer.
